Make your own barrel-aged gin with these oak chips. Add your gin to the bottle of chips and let them release their rich flavour and beautiful colour, just like a classic wooden barrel maturation. Enjoy the luxurious experience of barrel-aged gin, right from your own home!
1. Add drink
Start by adding your favorite gin. Make sure the gin is at least 30% alcohol. Note the bottling date and the type of gin you used on the label. We recommend using your favorite gin for this experiment; you will be amazed at the difference in taste.
2. The ripening process
After filling your bottle, let it mature in a cool, dark place. The wood chips will slowly release their soft flavor and amber color. Taste occasionally to experience how the flavors develop. This process takes about eight weeks, but you can also discover what happens if you let it mature longer.
3. Serve your own Gin
After eight weeks, it's time to serve your own drink. Filter or carefully pour the drink before drinking it. Make sure that no wood chips end up in your glass. Also, never eat the wood chips.
4. Cheers!
