The story behind Isle of Skye Sea Salt Company
Founded in 2011, we're the first UK producer to use exclusively solar evaporation—natural evaporation powered by sun and wind. Seawater from Loch Snizort is slowly evaporated in shallow ponds within polytunnels. After four to eight weeks, pure, crisp salt crystals bursting with minerals and flavor are created. No chemical processes, no heating—just the power of nature.

Sustainable and artisanal
Production is entirely circular: residual water is returned to the sea, packaging is recyclable, and all work is done locally. This approach has earned recognition from Slow Food's Ark of Taste and several Great Taste Awards.
